Økapi starts playing with vinyls and turntables influenced by the new music scene of plagiarists and radical djs, holding on to the classic “acousmatic “ approach of concrete and electro acoustic music. In 1992 he starts a small pirated edition called Slap-Press and becomes an active member of M.a.co.s.. In 1997 he meets the electro acoustic composer Maurizio Martusciello and they start a duo, Metaxu. Their first work is commissioned by a radio event at Phonurgia Nova di Arles (France). In the years he takes part in music improvisations playing with artist such as Zu, Mike Cooper, Peter Brotzmann, Mike Patton, Matt Gustafson, Damo Suzuki, Andy EX, Eugenio Colombo, Vittorino Curci, Luca Venitucci, Gianni Gebbia, Matt Bernardino Penazzi, Fabrizio Sperra, Elio Martusciello, Maurizio Martusciello, Pasquale Iannarella, Roy Paci... He has composed music for theatre (Festival di teatro di gubbio, Festival di Ostia antica) and he is often guest of the jazzcore band Zu, he collaborates with the audiovisual collective “Cane capovolto” and the French trio “Metamkine”.

In 2000 he starts the trio Dogon (with Massimo zu e Martux_M) and with Martusciello he participates at the Biennial of Venice and the "Biennial of European and Mediterranean artists" and at "Controindicazioni", "RingRing b92 Around the World", "Musica 90" festivals. In the same year he plays with the American radical dj Christian Marclay at a performance broadcasted by Radio Rai. He plays with Metaxu at the "Off-ICMC" festival in Berlin.
